The Record - Movie crew transforms downtown Mission

Updated: Nov 30, 2020

Anyone who walked downtown last week would have thought Christmas came early this year.

A film crew was on scene in Mission filming the new movie Cross Country Christmas. Local stores were used for background shots and were covered with fake snow, decorations, Christmas trees and even nutcrackers to create a holiday feel.

According to the Internet Movie Data Base, the TV movie stars Rachael Leigh Cook and Greyston Holt and is directed by Catherine Cyran.

The brief plot synopsis states “Snowstorm threatens both Lina’s and Max’ holiday plans. They are forced to work together to figure out a way home – without taking it out on each other.”
