2024 Speaker Series
The objective of this series is to further develop an inclusive and diverse Downtown by engaging in sensitive topics that may be difficult for some to navigate in a professional setting.
This series aims to destigmatize uncomfortable conversations, provide standard messaging for attendees and allow guests to ask questions in a safe space. This is a 5 part educational series with the main objective to be to break down social and cultural barriers to create an inclusive downtown environment.

and is $5 at the door for the public.
Each workshop will be from 2pm-4pm at the Copper Hall event venue at 33129 N Railway Ave, Mission, BC and will have an opportunity for a questions & answer period and a networking period after a 45-minute presentation.

Digital Marketing 101 with the Downtown Business Association

In this presentation, Executive Director Karley Holley will be diving into all aspects of digital marketing including using her experience as a Facebook Marketing Expert to help attendees understand the importance of marketing to a digital audience, how to balance your budget between print and digital platforms and how to get the most out of your Facebook ads.

This presentation will focus on cultural appropriation in the workplace. It will discuss how and when to respectfully use land acknowledgements, how and when to properly adopt language and customs and the ways in which businesses can support Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.
